kieran Lomas

Kieran joined the firm in 2015 after spending the previous 8 years in the litigation team at a leading Hamilton law firm. He became a director of the firm in June 2016.

Kieran believes that understanding a person's motivations and their expectations is key to providing quality service. He prides himself on being approachable and at all times trying to put himself in the client's shoes to understand what they are trying to achieve.

He has a broad range of experience in all areas of dispute resolution and has been involved disputes at all levels, from disputes between neighbours, to large scale litigation involving multi-national corporate entities and cross-border litigation.

As well as a general civil litigation practice, Kieran also has significant experience in:

  • construction law and building defect claims, including multi-unit complex issues;

  • enforcement of securities including both mortgages over land and securities over goods (PPSR issues);

  • lease disputes;

  • relationship property;

  • estate and trust disputes; and

  • insolvency issues.

After 10 years’ experience in the administration of a successful regional sports club, Kieran has taken a particular interest in sports law including administrative and disciplinary issues at all levels of sport.

He regularly appears in the District and High Courts and has appeared in the Court of Appeal on multiple occasions, and assisted with cases in the Supreme Court.
